About me

What professional accomplishment are you most proud of?
I'm really proud when I reflect on my role as the founding designer at Mashable. Defining the site's visual identity from the start was a huge opportunity, and it's incredible to consider its impact on the company's growth and the wider landscape of online news design.

What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love the creative process of transforming ideas into tangible designs.  Collaborating with talented colleagues to brainstorm, iterate, and bring those designs to life is incredibly fulfilling. I also enjoy the continuous learning that comes with design, always exploring new tools, technologies, and approaches.

What do you believe are your unique talents?
I enjoy tackling the challenges that come with merging design and development. My understanding of technical constraints helps me find creative solutions that work in the real world. I'm also good at keeping everyone on the same page by explaining design decisions clearly. Building design systems that make things more consistent and efficient is another area where I excel.

What helps you thrive as a designer in a remote setting?
I've been a designer for a long time, with much of that time spent working remotely. I've learned a few lessons along the way. For me, I need a dedicated office space and my dual monitors to stay on track. Also, being good at managing my time and communicating with the team is super important.

I've seen firsthand that a dedicated workspace, free from distractions, is key for any designer to be successful, and why a focused setup is far more productive than casually working from a sofa with just a laptop.
